When I was taking pictures of my oldest, milestone photos weren't really a thing - at least not like they are today. So, I did my best, and we tried every month to ensure not a single month or moment was missed.
Trust me.
I was the mom taking photos with blocks, on the play mat, in the high chair, in the crib, just to make sure I got at least one decent photo. Getting the perfect shot was tough!
As my ‘babies’ aren’t babies anymore, I can’t help but look back and wish that my photos weren’t so dark, or rushed, or all headshots, or that they showed the emotion we were feeling that day.
There’s no going back.
You know what's amazing about making milestone photo props though? As Birchmark Designs has grown, I've been able to see newborn photographers in action as they work with our props and babies. How they use lighting, pose, and handle babies safely.
It took too long to realize, but I eventually learned I could do better at photographing my own family.
I am passionate about helping moms take photos in a way that works best for them and in their own space, so they can enjoy memories when baby is grown - without trying a million locations, guessing if they're doing it right, or feeling regret over so-so photos.
I still photograph my 'babies' and now take my own family photos too, and I'm teaching other moms how to do the same.
If you are ready to take your photos to the next level, avoid the mom-guilt, and record your family's story, you’re in the right place.
Let’s get started!
